Description

This cart shed, located 10 yards northwest of the Great Barn at Park Farm in Wimpole Park, dates from the early 19th century and was designed by Sir John Soane. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding on a brick plinth and is supported by brick piers. The roof is thatched with combed wheat reed and the building is one storey high with a loft. It has three dormers with bargeboards and is divided into nine bays by red brick piers. This structure is part of a planned group of farm buildings constructed for the 3rd Earl of Hardwicke.
