Description

Horseshoe Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Brook Street in Elsworth. It is constructed of painted brick, and may have originally been timber framed, with a weather boarded gable on the south side. The cottage features thatched roofs and is designed in an L-shape, consisting of one storey and an attic. The entrance includes a 19th-century door with six reeded panels, positioned in a lobby entry, and is flanked by three-light horizontal sliding sash windows. There are also two similar dormer windows. A central ridge stack made of red brick with gault brick upper courses is a notable feature. Historically, this building was known as the Three Horse Shoes Inn.
