Description

The building at 2 Brook Street is a house, originally built as a bakery in 1843. It is constructed of painted brick with slate roofs, and features an end stack on the north side. The house is two storeys high, with a single-storey gabled extension to the south. A 20th-century door provides access to the main entrance, and it is flanked by two sixteen-paned sash windows with flush frames set within segmental brick arches. Above, there are three similar sash windows. The extension has a boarded door and one ground floor window. The bakehouse was advertised as newly built in the Cambridge Chronicle on 25th November 1843.
