Description
Nos. 1, 3, and 5 on Orchard Lane are a former dovehouse that has been converted into two dwellings. This building dates from the 17th or 18th century and was altered in the 19th century, during which an additional range of two cottages was added to the left side. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled saddleback roof. It stands two storeys high and features two 19th-century doors on the left and right sides, along with two ground floor and three first floor horizontal sliding sash windows. A ridge chimney stack is present. The dovehouse may be located on the site of an earlier dovehouse at Monkes Ortyarde.
