Description
Storeys Cottage is a cottage that dates from the late medieval period, with alterations made in the late 16th century. It features a 17th-century addition and has undergone renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from timber framing and plaster, with some sections in 19th-century brick. It has a plain tiled roof and a red brick stack with four reduced octagonal shafts. The cottage has two storeys, and the cross wing is jettied to the main elevation on the left side of the main range, which is cased in 19th-century brick. There are two doors on the main range, along with 20th-century casement windows. Inside, the plain range was originally an open hall, but a floor was inserted and the roof was raised in the late 16th century. The cross wing features exposed timbers, stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and a crown-post roof.
