Description

Lawn Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, designed in the cottage orne style. It is timber-framed and plastered, with plastered plinths. The thatched roof features a local gault brick stack from the 18th century located behind the ridge. The building has two storeys and attics, with a symmetrical facade consisting of three bays. The entrance includes a pedimented closed porch with a four-centred arch and a panelled door that has studded decoration. Above the porch is a window shaped to a four-centred arch, flanked by two ground floor and two first floor three-light casement windows that have oval-patterned glazing bars. Inside, the cottage features exposed chamfered ceiling beams, a fitted 18th-century cupboard, and four-panelled doors.
