Description

MAGDALENE STREET 1. 942 (South-west Side) No 25 (Post Office) TL 4458 NE 3/93 26.4.50. II GV 2. Early C17. 3 storeys, timber-framed and plastered, with some exposed timbers; both storeys project; carriage-way left ground floor with old panelled gates; 1st floor 2 semi-hexagonal oriel windows, 2nd floor 2 sash windows, all with glazing bars. Ground floor right end post with tapering pilaster surmounted by grotesque figure supporting projecting upper storey; similar grotesque right of carriage-way; 1st floor with tapering Ionic pilasters on end and middle posts supporting grotesque figures below projecting 2nd floor; remains of end posts on top floor. Some original internal features. (RCHM 205). Nos 13 to 18 (consec) and Nos 20 to 31 (consec) form a group.
