Description
The Pickerel Inn is an early 19th-century building located at 30 Magdalene Street. It is three storeys high, constructed of gault brick with a slate roof. The top floor features four windows, while the first floor has three windows, all with segmental heads and without glazing bars. On the right side, there is a tall carriageway with a projecting wrought-iron bracket that holds a central lamp. The rear wing of the inn is much older, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, and is timber-framed and plastered. Inside, there are some 17th-century paneling and many features from the 18th century. The Pickerel Inn is part of a group with Nos 13 to 18 and Nos 20 to 31 on the same street.
