Description
The Seven Stars Inn is a late 16th-century building that features two storeys and a cellar. The first floor is timber-framed with plastered panels that once projected but have since been underbuilt. The ground floor is stuccoed and now projects, topped with a tiled roof. The front door is deeply recessed, flanked by seats on either side. There are two small canted bay windows on the ground floor, while the first floor has three windows, consisting of two and three-light casements. To the right, there is a round-headed passageway on the ground floor, which contains a post and moulded bressummers. The south side of the building has timber framing, and there is a timber-framed wing at the rear. The area at the back and the passageway is cobbled. Inside, the first-floor room features a plaster ceiling decorated with fleurs-de-lis and rosettes. The roof is tiled with gabled ends. The Seven Stars Inn is part of a group with Nos 1 to 21 (odd) and Nos 1 to 5 (consecutive) on Church Street.
