Description

The Horseshoe Inn is a 17th-century timber-framed building that has been stuccoed with applied sham timber framing. It stands three storeys tall, with the top floor projecting. The ground floor features flanking canted bay windows that are connected by a tiled pentice roof. There are six steps leading up to the door, with a raised stone terrace on either side that has slender iron handrails. On the first and second floors, there are two windows wide, consisting of three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars. Some exposed timber-framing can be seen at the rear and on the south return. A passageway is located on the right side. The Horseshoe Inn, along with Nos 33 to 37 (odd) and Nos 67, 71, and 73, forms a group, with No 71 being a building of local interest.
