Description
67 The Homend is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was refronted in the early 18th century. It features a tiled roof with gabled ends and dentil blocks beneath the eaves. The front is made of colourwashed brick and includes four flat brick Tuscan pilasters, one of which is interrupted by an arched opening leading to a passage on the right. The building has two storeys and a basement, with three narrow sash windows that have modern glazing, along with one blocked window. The arch to the passage on the right includes an impost and keyblock. There is also a small Victorian shop window with elliptically headed lights. At the rear, some timber-framing is still visible. Inside, the building showcases exposed timber-framing, a stop-chamfered beam, and fielded-panel doors. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 33 to 37 (odd) Horseshoe Inn and Nos 67, 71, and 73, with No 71 being a building of local interest.
