Description

The gate lodge and gates of Downing College, built in 1834, are located on Regent Street. The structure has been extensively altered in 1966. It is constructed from grey gault brick and has two storeys with two windows, featuring sash windows with glazing bars, except for one modern window. The central doorway includes a fanlight. The building has a parapet with a plain band and a hipped slate roof. The wrought-iron gates are simple and topped with lamps and the College arms.
