Description

This lamp standard was erected in 1894, renovated in 1946, and refurbished in 1999. It is made of cast iron and features a square-section plinth and base, with inscription panels on each side. The southwest side includes an access hatch. The top edges are decorated with waterleaf motifs, and the base of the shaft is adorned with four intertwined dolphins. The plain shaft, which is circular in section, supports four candelabra lamp holders that are attached with scrolled wrought-iron stays. The lamp holders are enclosed in glazed mande cages that have an inverted conical shape.
