Description
Fitzwilliam Street features a terrace of small houses, numbered 1 to 12, built around 1825. These mostly two-storey homes have attics and basements, constructed from gault brick with slate roofs. The doorways of Nos 9, 10, and 12 are square-headed with reeded surrounds and board hoods, while Nos 7, 8, and 11 have similar doorways topped with half round brick arches. The remaining doorways feature semi-circular heads. Most windows retain their glazing bars, although No 5 has mid 19th century sashes and a modern bay. Nos 1, 3, and 4 have panelled reveals at the doors and mansard roofs, while the roofs of the other houses are not visible. Additionally, Nos 7 to 12 have iron area railings. All the listed buildings on Fitzwilliam Street are part of a group.
