Description

TRUMPINGTON STREET 1. 942 No 31 (Formerly listed as Fitzwilliam House) TL 4457 NE 9/196 26.4.50. II* GV 2. Dated 1727; 3 storeys; brown brick, rubbed red brick dressings; tile roof; moulded and dentilled brick cornice below parapet; 6 windows segmental heads; glazing bars and brick aprons with one keystone to southernmost on ground floor dated and initials "1727 1 H"; doorcase with fluted Corinthian pilasters, entablature and dentilled wood cornice; fielded panelled door with glazed top panel. Roof not visible. Very good original staircase. Several rooms with good original panelling and doors. East wing of circa 1700, much altered. (RCHM 28). Nos 30, 31, 33 to 40 (consec) form a group.
