Description

15 Fitzwilliam Street is a building dating from around 1825, traditionally attributed to William Wilkins, but more likely designed by Charles Humfrey. It has undergone some minor alterations and replacements in the later 19th century. The building is two storeys tall with a basement, constructed from grey gault brick with stone dressings. It features a wide plat band at the first floor level and a narrow one at the first floor cill level. The façade includes four-light sash windows with glazing bars, with larger windows that have unfluted Doric surrounds facing the garden. The entrance consists of a panelled door flanked by unfluted Doric pilasters and an entablature, with a rectangular light above. The building has an eaves cornice and a low pitched hipped slate roof. All the listed buildings in Fitzwilliam Street form a group.
