Description
Newnham Cottage, built around 1805 by William Wilkins, Senior, is a Grade II listed building located on Queens' Road. It is constructed of grey gault brick and has two storeys. The garden front features a central bow with three French windows, which are flanked by an additional window on each side. These central windows are covered by a curved glazed cast-iron verandah from the mid-19th century. Above the bow, there are four sash windows with jalousies. The west end of the cottage is slightly projected forward, and there is a modern entrance with an earlier covered way. Inside, the cottage boasts good plasterwork and a plain staircase. The roof is slate. There is a northeast wing added around 1900 and a northwest wing from the 20th century.
