Description

Fitzroy Terrace comprises a terrace of six houses built in the late 18th century. It is believed the houses were originally intended to accommodate servants for the Fitzroy family. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings, featuring a central name plaque. They have three storeys and semi-basements. Most houses have two windows, with number 98 having one. The semi-basement openings are generally segmental-arched, with mostly part-glazed doors. The first floor features round-arched sash windows with gauged red brick surrounds and intersecting tracery; these were originally the main entrances. The second and third floors have recessed sashes with gauged brick flat arches above. A coped parapet tops the terrace. The interiors are reported to retain good original features.
