Description

Numbers 1 to 5 Grove Terrace form a terrace of five houses built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with rusticated stucco to the ground floors. They are four storeys high, with basements. Each house has two windows. Numbers 1, 3, and 5 feature projecting stucco porticoes. The doorways have pilaster jambs, cornice heads, patterned fanlights, and panelled doors. The windows are recessed sash windows; those on the ground floor are round-arched with keystones, while No.2 has margin glazing. Upper floor windows have gauged brick flat arches; some have margin glazing, and all have cast-iron balconies at the first-floor level, projecting around the porticoes. A parapet tops the building. The left-hand return elevation has three blind windows. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings with spearhead finials define the areas.
