Description

Two semi-detached houses are located on Highgate Road, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of yellow stock brick with rusticated stucco on the ground floors. They have hipped roofs; number 68 has a tiled roof, while number 70 has a slated roof. A central chimney stack rises from the roof. Each house is three storeys high and has one window on each side of a recessed entrance bay. The doorways have square heads, overlights, and 20th-century panelled doors; number 68 features a prostyle portico. The windows are architraved sashes. The first floors have console bracketed cornices, and the windows have glazing bars. Both houses have a recessed rectangular panel on the second floor of the entrance bays. The interiors were not inspected.
