Description
Nos 13 and 14 Magdalene Street, along with No 1 Northampton Street, are late 16th century buildings that are timber-framed and plastered, standing two storeys tall with attics. The first floor and attics project over the street on the Northampton Street front, while the gabled north end of the attics and the entire first floor project on the Magdalene Street front. This creates an exceedingly picturesque block, particularly in conjunction with Cory House. The attics were added in the 17th century, and a mansard roof was introduced in the 18th century. The buildings feature sliding sash windows and a 19th-century shopfront. Inside, there are two rooms with 17th-century panelling. Nos 13 to 18 and Nos 20 to 31 form a group.
