Description
The County Folk Museum, formerly known as the White Horse Inn, is located on Castle Street and consists of a street range dating from the 16th century, with a west addition from the 17th century and a further west wing built around 1700. The building has two storeys with attics, featuring a timber-framed and plastered structure with a tiled roof. The ground floor is underbuilt with modern brick, and the front wall is enhanced by three gabled dormers, while the back range is taller. The façade has been modernized and now includes all modern casement windows. Inside, there are various 18th-century features, including two staircases, and a very large and fine original chimney stack.
