Description

This is a terrace of 42 houses, numbered 1 to 42, on Eden Street, dating from approximately 1835. The terrace is constructed of uniform grey gault brick and retains its original character, with only minor alterations. It is a smaller version of the New Square terrace. The houses are two storeys high with a single window each, featuring sash windows with glazing bars. Number 3 has a single-storey lean-to entrance, representing the only significant alteration to the entire terrace. The doorways are elliptically headed and most retain their original panelled doors. The roof is slate. A central feature above numbers 21 and 22 comprises a pediment supported by three brick pilasters. The building is of group value, contributing to the character of the area.
