Description

The Barn is a house dating from the earlier 18th century. It is timber framed with colourwashed brick infill and features a thatched roof. The building has a two-room plan, is one storey high with attics, and on the ground floor, there are two three-light casement windows with glazing bars, along with a 20th-century rectangular bay window that has leaded lights. In the attic, there is an eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement window that also has glazing bars. The entrance is through an off-centre plank door located under a thatched gabled open porch. There is a red brick external stack on the left-hand gable end and a brick integral stack on the right-hand gable end. Adjacent to the left-hand gable end is a lower weatherboarded outbuilding that has been converted into domestic accommodation, featuring a plank door on the left and three leaded single lights on the right. The property also includes the former number 7.
