Description

Valentine Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is a timber-framed building, with some parts featuring colourwashed brick infill and others colourwashed render and applied timber framing. The roof is thatched. The house originally comprised three rooms, with a one-storey main section and attics. A later block projects to the rear. The front elevation has single-storey lean-to additions to the outer bays. A variety of casement windows are present, many retaining leaded lights. There are three eyebrow dormers. A plank door is located in the central bay. A substantial red brick ridge stack is situated on the left-hand side, and an integral brick stack is present on the right-hand gable end.
