Description

Two cottages, formerly a row of three, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The cottages are divided into three distinct sections. The left-hand section has colourwashed render over a timber frame, with a thatched roof. It contains a single room, one storey, and an attic. It features a two-light ground floor casement window, an eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement window containing glazing bars, and an external brick stack to the left-hand gable. The central section has a red brick casing over a timber frame and a clay tile roof. It also has a single room, one storey, and an attic, with two-light casement windows containing glazing bars, one to the ground floor and one in an eyebrow dormer. A partially glazed door is located on the left-hand side, and there is a red brick stack to the right-hand side. The right-hand section, dating from the 19th century, is constructed of yellow brick with a slate roof. It comprises a single room over two storeys, with a sash window containing glazing bars to each floor. A six-panel door is on the left-hand side, and there is an integral brick stack to the right-hand gable. The group value lies in the survival of these distinct, yet connected, building styles.
