Description
Balliol House and The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage that has been divided into two properties. It features late 18th century and 19th century alterations to an earlier structure, likely from the 17th century. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick with slate roofs, and it encases some substantial timber framing, which is visible on the rear elevation. It has a two-storey T-plan layout with four 2-light windows on each floor. All windows are casements with leaded lights, and the ground floor windows are set under cambered heads. There is a brick band at the first floor level. A late 19th century gabled porch is present, featuring pointed-arched lights on the sides, decorative bargeboards, and part-glazed double doors. There is a red brick integral stack at the left-hand end. Additionally, there are 20th century colourwashed brick and slate additions to both the left-hand and right-hand gable ends.
