Description
No. 136 Clophill Road is a house that was formerly a smithy, dating from around 1700. It features colourwashed roughcast render over a timber-framed structure and has a thatched roof. The original house has a two-room plan, is one storey high with attics, and includes a right-hand room that has been converted from an outbuilding.
On the ground floor, there are three small casement windows of varying sizes. A 20th-century gabled thatched porch has a two-light casement window above the door. The left-hand gable end has a single light window on the ground floor and a two-light casement window in the attic, both of which have glazing bars. The house also features decorative wavy-edged bargeboards, one rendered ridge stack, and one rendered integral stack on the right-hand gable end. Additionally, there is a 20th-century parallel extension at the rear.
