TL 0467 DEAN AND SHELTON BROOK LANE (WEST SIDE), UPPER DEAN 7/68 Dean House Farmhouse 13.7.64 II GV
Farmhouse. C16 with C19 fenestration. Colour washed rough cast on timber frame. Old clay tile roof. H-plan, extended to rear. 2 storeys and attics. Cross-passage. Off centre red brick stack and projecting 3-stage gable end stack to south, bottom stage of coursed limestone rubble. Moulded wood mullion and transom casements to LH gable ground and first floor, to central bay ground floor and to RH gable first floor. 2-light casement to LH gable attic. 2 3-light wood mullion windows to central bay first floor. 2 sashes with glazing bars to RH gable ground floor. 2 hipped dormers to central bay with 2-light casements. 6 panel door in architrave surround with Doric pilasters and entablature. Remains of pinhole pattern pargetting. Bargeboards to gables. Ground floor room has early C17 oak panelling with bas relief figured and foliate carving.
