Description

Pear Tree Cottage is a late 17th or early 18th century cottage situated on the west side of Dean and Shelton Brook Lane, Upper Dean. The building is constructed with colour-washed rough cast and brick on a timber frame, and has an old clay tile roof. Features include red brick ridge and integral south gable end stacks and tiled coping to the south gable end. The cottage has a 3-bay plan over two storeys, with four 2-light casements to the ground floor and three 2-light casements to the first floor, all dating to the 20th century. A front door is located in the north gable end and is topped by a hood supported on moulded wood brackets.
