Description

This is a late 17th-century cottage located on the north-west side of High Street in Riseley. The exterior is a mix of rough cast over timber framing, coursed limestone rubble, and colour-washed sections, with a clay tile roof. The cottage has a 2-bay plan and one storey with attics. The south-east facing gable end, which fronts the road, shows exposed stonework and includes a casement window to the ground floor, as well as a 2-light horizontal sash window with glazing bars in the attic. The south-west (front) elevation features a front door aligned with a red brick double ridge stack. Two 2-light horizontal sash windows with glazing bars are positioned on either side of the door, and a gabled open porch shelters the entrance.
