Description

These cottages, numbered 38 and 40, are dated to the 18th century. They are built with a timber frame and rough cast rendering, covered by thatched roofing. The cottages follow a four-room plan and have one storey with attics. Number 38 has 20th-century casement windows, while number 40 features two two-light sash windows with glazing bars. A small dormer window is present on each cottage. A plank door is located at number 40. A colour-washed red brick gable end stack is visible on number 40, and a double red brick ridge stack sits between the two cottages. A later two-storey addition, constructed of colour-washed brick and with a tile roof, extends from the rear of number 38.
