Description
The Fox and Hounds Public House is a public house dating from the early 17th century. It features colour washed brick and rough cast over a timber frame, topped with an old clay tile roof. The building has an H-plan layout with some additions and stands two storeys tall.
On the left-hand cross-wing, there is a 19th-century projecting bay at the ground floor and a 2-light casement window on the first floor. The main block has a 20th-century porch, with flush sash windows that have glazing bars on the ground floor and casements on the first floor. The right-hand cross-wing features a flush sash window with glazing bars under a cambered head at the ground floor and another flush sash window with glazing bars on the first floor.
The main block has a red brick ridge stack with two diagonal shafts, while the right-hand cross-wing has a red brick double stack with a rendered base. There are lean-to additions to both cross-wings, and a one-storey wing has been added to the southwest.
