Description

Cannon Cottage is a house that was originally two cottages, dating from the 17th century and later. The exterior features colour washed rough cast over a timber frame and an old clay tile roof. The building has a three-bay plan, with the northeast bay being a later addition. On the ground floor, there are three flush sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has two 2-light horizontal sashes with glazing bars and one 3-light leaded casement. The front door of No. 44 is aligned with a red brick double ridge stack, whereas No. 46 has a blocked door and a red brick integral gable end stack, along with a one-storey lean-to addition at the gable end. The roof also features a band of 19th-century fishscale tiles.
