Description

Highbarn House is a 17th-century house located on the north-west side of Riseley High Street. It is timber-framed, with the ground floor rendered in colour-washed rough cast and the first floor with colour-washed plaster infill. The roof is thatched. The house has a T-plan, two storeys high. The front elevation features two early 19th-century canted bays on either side of a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor. Two three-light casement windows are present on the first floor. The southwest elevation has 20th-century windows and a doorway on the ground floor, and four two-light horizontal sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. Red brick external gable end stacks are visible on both wings. A two-storey gabled addition of 20th-century construction extends from the northeast elevation.
