Description

8-13 Ricketts Place, formerly the western part of Styles Warehouses, is a pair of warehouses dating from the mid-18th century. The buildings were converted into residential apartments in the 1990s. They are constructed of painted brick with a hipped roof, tiled on the left-hand side and corrugated asbestos on the right. The two ranges have gable ends facing the road. The buildings are two storeys high, with a stepped brick cornice. The left-hand part has two windows on the upper floor, with two-light casements under segmental brick arches, flanking a central doorway. The ground floor features two windows, with fixed casements: one under a concrete lintel to the left and one under a segmental head to the right. A central door is located approximately one metre above road level. The right-hand part has three upper floor windows, with fixed casements under concrete lintels. It also has a fixed casement on the ground floor under a concrete lintel. The facade of this section has been re-arranged and features several blocked openings.
