Description
Victoria House is a building that has been converted into flats. It was originally constructed in 1735, with some alterations made in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. The house is made of brick and features a hipped tile roof. It stands three storeys tall and has a stone-coped parapet.
The façade includes five windows, which are boxed glazing bar sashes. The outer two windows and the central window are blind, all featuring segmental heads. On the second floor, there are 9-pane boxed sashes under rubbed brick heads, with blind windows below. The ground floor has four windows, also boxed glazing bar sashes under segmental heads, with the leftmost window being blind.
The central entrance is approached by three stone steps and features a pilastered wooden doorcase. It has a 20th-century lean-to canopy supported by wooden brackets and a 20th-century glazed door. To the left of the central window, there is a lead drainpipe of square section with decorative fixing plates, and the rainwater head is inscribed with "1735/ B / IA".
