Description
Nos 78 and 79 on Load Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and restaurant. It likely dates from the early 17th century but was remodeled in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is clad in rendered brick and has a slate roof with a gable end stack. It stands three storeys tall and has two windows, including canted bay windows. The second floor has 4-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has a tiled shop front with a 3-pane display window. To the right of the shop front is an entrance with a glazed door, and at the right corner, there is another entrance featuring 20th-century fluted pilasters and a 6-panel door, which leads to a staircase. Inside, exposed ceiling beams are visible on the first floor.
