Description
Nos 72 and 73 on Load Street is a house that has been converted into two shops and a flat. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and a remodel in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick and has a tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic that is lit by four gabled dormers. There are four windows in total, consisting of two pairs of glazing bar sashes set under plastered wedge lintels with keystones. The ground floor features a modern pentice tile roof with two shop fronts, each containing three panes. There is a roughly central entrance with a half-glazed door, and similar entrances are located at the right and left corners; the entrance on the right leads to a passage that provides access to the flats. The building is included for its group value.
