Description
No 29 Load Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and flat. It dates from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and has a dentilled brick cornice.
The facade includes two windows on the upper floors, which are glazing bar sashes set beneath plastered wedge lintels. The ground floor features a pilastered shop front with scroll brackets supporting the cornice. There is a central entrance that is accessed by four stone steps, leading to a half-glazed door, and this is flanked by two plate glass windows. The building is set about one metre in front of No 30 to the right, which has a sash window on the ground and first floors in the return wall.
