Description
No. 4 Balderton Gate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick that has been colourwashed and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with sprocketed eaves and a cogged eaves band. It has two storeys and includes a single 20th-century casement window. There are two late 19th-century wooden shopfronts, each with panelled pilasters and a continuous cornice. One shopfront has a glazed door, which is flanked on the left by a 20th-century single pane window with a cast iron grille above. On the right side, there is a round-cornered single pane window and a glazed door beyond it. Both doors feature barred overlights. The right-hand shopfront extends into the adjoining property, No. 2.
