Description
14 Balderton Gate is a pair of houses that have been converted into two shops, one of which is currently vacant. The building dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. It features colourwashed brick and has a steeply pitched pantile roof with a bracketed gutter, two coped gables, and a single ridge stack. The structure is two storeys high and has a five-window range. The windows include an off-centre plain sash, flanked by a single glazing bar sash on the left and three glazing bar sashes on the right. The late 19th century wooden shopfront has panelled pilasters and a bracketed fascia. There is a splayed central doorway flanked by single pane windows, and to the right, a door that has been altered to form a window. Further to the right, there is a separate single pane window with a similar surround.
