Description

The Talbott Memorial is a pedestal memorial located about 25 metres north-west of the tower of the Church of St John the Baptist. It commemorates William Talbott, who died on April 1, 1818, at the age of 53, and his wife Sarah, who passed away on February 17, 1823, at the age of 57. The memorial is made of sandstone ashlar and features a moulded plinth, a moulded cornice, and a large urn finial. It also has a fluted frieze and an oval inscription panel that reads: "Sacred to the memory of William Talbott who died the 1st April 1818 Aged 53 years. Also Sarah wife of the above who died February 17th 1823 Aged 57 years."
