Description
The Birches is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tile roof with gable-end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has brick coped verges and a dentilled brick cornice. A gabled central section projects forward. The facade includes three windows: two 3-light casements are positioned on either side of a 2-light casement, all of which are topped with segmental heads. The second floor mirrors this window arrangement, with the outer two windows having timber lintels. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light 19th-century casements flanking a central entrance that features an open pedimented wooden doorcase with fluted pilasters, a fanlight, and a six-panelled door.
