Description
A group of three memorials is located approximately six metres east of the Church of St John the Baptist. This group includes two chest tombs and one pedestal tomb, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are made of sandstone ashlar and feature rectangular plans with moulded plinths and capping. The Turner memorial, dated 1810, is a pedestal tomb with a pyramidal capping, a band of acanthus below, and a fielded inscription panel. The Thomas Turner memorial, from 1763, has three-quarter corner balusters flanking a fielded rectangular inscription panel, with a cartouche on the short sides. The Baldwyn memorial, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, is largely defaced and covered in ivy, featuring oval inscription panels on the short sides.
