Description
Wobage Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the late 18th century, and further changes in the 20th century. The north front features part close-studded timber-framing with painted brick infill and a sandstone rubble plinth, along with later additions, all topped with slate roofs. The original house is aligned east to west, with a later parallel addition creating a rectangular plan that includes end stacks and a central entrance on the north front. The building has two storeys, attics, and cellars. On the north front, there are two 2-light casement windows and one 20th-century window to the left of a gabled porch, which has a part-glazed door. Inside, the farmhouse retains chamfered ceiling beams. It is said that the house was one of three farmhouses given to Sir Christopher Mallon by Elizabeth I.
