Description
This house, located about 700 metres south-west of the Old Cottage, dates back to the 17th century and has mid-19th century alterations. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill and a tiled roof. The building consists of three framed bays arranged in a north/south direction, with a chimney stack in the south of the north bay topped by a brick shaft.
The house is two storeys high and has three windows on the upper floor, all of which are 3-light 19th century casements. On the ground floor, there are three windows as well: a roughly central 3-light 19th century casement, flanked by two 20th century casements. The entrance includes a half-glazed door to the left, a door with a gabled canopy to the left of the central bay, and a door under a segmental head to the right bay.
The framing of the house features three square panels high with straight angle braces. The south gable includes two queen struts supporting the collar and trenched purlins. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped beams, and the staircase dates from the late 18th to early 19th century.
