Description
Bibsworth House is a house built in 1904 by Guy Dawber. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The design is symmetrical, with projecting one-bay cross-wings and a recessed center that has one bay on each side of a two-storey porch. The windows are timber casements with plain reveals, projecting sills, and leaded glazing. Above the first-floor windows of the wings are segmental relieving arches, and there are two hipped attic dormers.
The outer porch doorway has a round arch with a keystone and impost blocks, along with alternate tile voussoirs. Above this doorway is a lozenge panel displaying arms and the motto: "Capiat Potes Qui Capere." The lintel of the inner doorway is carved with the initials "HGC (Clegg)" and the date "1903." The chimneys are topped with diagonal caps.
