Description

SP 1037 BROADWAY CP ORCHARD TERRACE (off) 9/124 Stone Cottage GV II House. Possibly mid-C18, altered. Limestone rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys with attic, two bays. South front has C20 metal casement windows with plain reveals. To the left of the right-hand bay is doorway with a surround of stones which form a crude pointed arch. Gables coped with chimneys. At first floor window sill height a thin stone projects from the quoins at each side of the facade. Their purpose is unknown, but they could mark an earlier eaves level. The west gable wall has irregularly-spaced casement windows with plain reveals, including one which lights the attic. Interior: not accessible at time of survey (December 1986).
