Description
Stone Cottage is a house that possibly dates from the mid-18th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of two bays. The south front has 20th-century metal casement windows with plain reveals. To the left of the right-hand bay, there is a doorway surrounded by stones that form a crude pointed arch. The gables are coped and include chimneys. At the first-floor window sill height, a thin stone projects from the quoins on each side of the facade, the purpose of which is unknown, but they may indicate an earlier eaves level. The west gable wall has irregularly spaced casement windows with plain reveals, including one that illuminates the attic. The interior was not accessible during the survey in December 1986.
