Description

The Old House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century and mid-19th century, and a restoration in the late 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill that has been replaced and clad in brick, topped with a tile roof. The house consists of three framed bays aligned in a north-east to south-west direction, with later additions to the north-west. There is a stack on the north-east gable and another stack at the north-east end of the central bay.

On the garden front, the left side has two storeys, while the right side has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by two raking-top dormers. The first floor on the left has two casement windows, and on the ground floor, there is a central late 20th-century conservatory flanked by two 3-light casements under segmental heads. The main entrance is located on the north-west elevation. Some of the framing is exposed on the north-west elevation, and internally, the cross-walls are fully framed with straight tension braces on the ground floor.
